Database Query is a do-all database component that offers extensive features.
A refactoring of Database Query's frontend is scheduled for DBQ 2.0, which will work with the new Joomla 1.5 framework. Upgrading DBQ to use the new framework will require a fair amount of work and there is little point in redesigning the frontend interface for the current Joomla 1.0 series.
Until DBQ 2.0, improvements will concentrate on business logic and features related to the query processing.
